Nothing's Too Hard for God

Grow in happiness

Talk about last weeks homework…. Which fruit of the spirit they picked, why, and how they did it.

Galatians 5:22-23

But the Holy Spirit produces this kind of fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. There is no law against these things!

JOY… What are other words for joy??

What do these words mean?

What gives it?

Why is joy important?

God doesn’t want us to always walk around unhappy… that’s why He created joy… because he wanted us to have it. And God created us so that He could have joy… We bring God joy!!

What are ways we can bring God joy?

Which of those things have we done this past week?

Play the fruits of the Spirit white board game again….

** Give each kid a piece of paper. Separate them from the group and have them write the fruits of the Spirit… All of them, in order.

Bring out the books…. Have one or one stack of books labeled “not joy” and have a light book labeled “joy”. Pick two volunteers and have one make a sad face and try to lift the heavy books. Then have the other make a happy face and try to lift the “joy” books. ITS EASIER!!! Explain that this is how joy works…. If you do things with a happy heart then things go better… if you do things without a happy heart then their harder… or don’t go right.

We are Gods kids and He wants us to have joy!!

HOMEWORK:

Read Galatians 5:22-23 everyday this week… pick a different fruit than from last week and work on it. Write in your journal which you picked, why, and how well you did with it. You are doing so great with your homework!!!
